I like hearing from the people who read this journal — students puzzling through a studio project, fellow practitioners who disagree with something I have written, or anyone simply thinking hard about the spaces they live and work in. Correspondence has a way of sharpening ideas, and more than one essay here began as a reply to a good question.

Write to me

The easiest way to reach the studio is by email, at hello@poeticlicenseintl.com. I read everything myself, though I confess a working studio and a teaching schedule mean I do not always answer as quickly as I would like. If your note asks something specific, a little context helps me give you a reply worth the wait.

What is worth sending

  • Reactions to anything published here — agreement is pleasant, but a well-argued objection is more useful.
  • Questions about practice, teaching, or the ideas behind a particular piece.
  • Notes from readers working on their own spaces who want a second way of thinking about a problem.

If a contact form appears alongside this page, it reaches the same inbox — use whichever you prefer. I cannot promise to take on new commissions or answer every request in depth, but I do promise to read what you send with attention. A studio is only as alive as the conversations moving through it, and I am grateful for every one.
